a strike so fast

the reality of fear
the gasp of hopelessness
the stress--gives us great unrest
the things we feel down deep inside
kindled by another who cares not for our lives
the words fly fast
the hatred thick

is any pain enjoyed?
why am i taunted?
why make fun?
but i dont need help
no-they are the ones in dire need
who put down others to succed
they need help
they must be lonely

even though they both are standing near
they go on with simple lives
not even daring to realize
the life behind blank staring eyes
he lives alone
and strives for friends
shes drunk each night
and wishes life would end
he's a serial killer
locked behind bars
yet from lack of attention
he still whispers to the stars
these people coat our daily lives
they're in our stores, our classes, our jobs
yet when they fall to the street we call them slobs
were afraid to get involved
we trap the needy in holes of despair
for we forgot the most important language
that was never spoken

though I'm not in teenage years
they fight with guns

my world has changed its not the same
I've played with guns
on video games
i killed bad things

the president sent out troops
it will be over "soon" (said matter of factly)
i went to Christmas dinner today
to see grandparents and hear old stories
then my eyes finally opened to see
an empty place
a seat laid bare
where is my cousin?
and his dad?
